Conductor (2007) (Documenting footage will be coming soon.)
“Conductor” is a new media interactive installation. The basic idea of this piece comes from reversing the role of authority. I suggest that people will enjoy conducting the choir from the screen. Twenty four artificial faces move slowly and each face makes a different note when the participant steps on any of the twenty four different keys. People can hear simple sounds and it can be harmonious or unharmonious, depending on their performances. This addresses my content, which gives the audience a chance to stand on conducting others. The relationship between the conductor and choir through the keyboard interface is a metaphorical device of music which gives unconscious pleasure to the audience manipulating them. For this piece I used 3D animation software Maya to make artificial faces, Processing for computer programming and ArtBus to communicate between the computer and physical interface. |

Neon (2004)
Endless human desires produce chaos and fear about the future world. I made artificial hatchery incubates unpredictable new births from my imagination. Neon is a great material to express the future image as it shows the developed technology through the response between gas and electricity. I chose warm color for neon in this work, as its function is hatching. |
